Topic:  Many Roads: A Review of Novel-Plotting Approaches or Plotter? Pantser? Puzzler? (Huh?)

Presented by: Jennifer Delamere

Approaches to planning a novel are as varied as writers and the novels they write. Certified “story structure geek” Jennifer Delamere will provide a survey of popular approaches to novel planning and plot generation, from the classic 3-act structure to focusing on characters and other kinds of organic plot development. Whether you’re on your first novel or have written many, the aim of this review is to give you insights, ideas, and avenues to pursue in order to make the most of your style of writing.

Jennifer Delamere’s debut novel, An Heiress at Heart, was a finalist for the Romance Writers of America’s RITA® award. Since then, her novels have won numerous other accolades, including the Maggie Award for Excellence from Georgia Romance Writers, finalist for the Virginia Romance Writers’ HOLT Medallion award, and a starred review from Publishers Weekly. She’s been an editor of nonfiction and educational materials for two decades. She loves reading classics and histories, which she mines for the vivid details to bring to life the people and places in her books.
